REVISED CRIMINAL CODE ACT

D.C. deserves a criminal code of its own making. Prosecutors, defense attorneys, and legal scholars spent years helping a non-partisan Commission modernize D.C.’s criminal laws. Those same advisors voted unanimously to send the RCCA to the D.C. Council who unanimously passed the bill, twice. The Revised Code resembles the Model Penal Code that 29 states adopted clarifying what is and what is not a crime, providing for greater predictability, transparency, and fairness.
